Hoi allemaal My name is Adeline Mulia, and I am currently a third year bachelor student studying International Business at the University of Groningen. Coming from a far country, Indonesia, I must admit that EBF has played a big role in the good memories and friendships I have had during my studies so far. Roughly since the beginning of 2021, I have been quite actively involved with EBF, from joining a committee, joining the European Study Research trip in Fall 2021, and becoming camp leaders for Intro Day 2021 and Intro Weekend 2022! Not only that, I also frequently attended EBF’s monthly socials together with my friends, and I feel like EBF gives the good balance between growing professionally for my CV while at the same time allowing me to have an amazing student life in Groningen.

My journey of being an active member in EBF started from September 2020 when I first started university. I joined the EBF Intro Day as a participant and had an amazing day meeting new friends and doing fun activities at the Grunopark. I then applied for the Marketing Committee in February 2021, from which I gained better writing skills as a content writer by creating monthly business articles for the EBF Journal.

In the fall of the same year, together with one of my friends from the committee, I applied for the European Study Research. Along with 25 other CV-selected students, we spent weeks of lectures and preparations for a week trip to Madrid. As an international student, it is a rare opportunity to be able to learn about not only doing business in Spain, but also explore the cultural and nightlife part of the capital city. From those experiences, I again get to meet new friends and some of them becomes the integral part of my life today.

In my opinion, EBF is one of the most openly international organization I have experience during my time as a student so far. In doing so, you also get to experience a taste of what typical Dutch student life would be, with committee nights, socials, and by having more Dutch (as well as international) friends! At the same time, you get to put your theoretical business knowledge or your personal interest into real practice. I would highly recommend everyone to get involved and join the different and interesting events and committees the EBF has to offer.
