The EBF Skillsday, organised on the 4th of March 2021, is to give the EBF Members and the students of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and the EBF Members the chance to develop themselves! The deadline to sign up is on the 3rd of March 2021 at 23.59!

FEB Career Services: CV check - 10.00-12.00

It is important to make your CV stand out for your future career. In the CV Check, Mohamoud will help you to improve your CV! Effective CV is key 1st step to being invited to the interview process. This workshop will give participants better understanding of how to demonstrate their skills, interests and experience, in order to create an impactful CV to showcase them. The participants will also acquire informed understand of the purpose and function of a CV, including what information it needs to include, and how best to organise that information. They will have the opportunity to apply by drafting their own CV using a provided template.The following issues will be addressed in this training:

the basics of a CV format and required content
the perspectives of an employer
how to personalize your CV to make you stand out from the crowd and get that job you desire
This training is required as pre-preparation if you want to at tend the Job Search Training.

FEB Career Services: Interview Training - 12.00-14.00

For your future career, it is important to feel strong in a job interview. In this workshop we provide you with information and tips and tricks to be successful in a job interview. The focus of this workshop is to help participants identify, discuss and apply interviewing skills, enabling them to share, exchange and gain better insight into the key aspects of the process and as well as the best practices. Issues that will be addressed are:

what to expect from a job interview
the best way to prepare yourself
the code of conduct
frequently asked questions
how to handle difficult questions
feedback on mock-interview sessions.

FEB Career Services: Work, Study, Life Balance Workshop - 12.00-14.00

Do you ever have the feeling that you have to do too many things at the same time? Are you figuring out how to manage all aspects of your professional life, while enjoying your personal life as well? Juggling work, study and life can be challenging to most of us. Balancing work, study, and personal life can be challenging, yet it is important for a healthy lifestyle.

In this workshop you:

reflect on your own current work-study-life challenges
Learn how to balance off your life better
improve awareness and identify useful strategies to address challenges
exchange ideas and experiences with fellow students
develop a plan of action to mitigate challenges

YAG: Real-life Business Case - 14.00-16.00

As a student, it is important to have practical experience on working in real-life situations. In this real-life business case of YAG, you will gain more experience how to work on such cases.

Through the training and cooperation of YAG with partners RolandBerger, Berenschot, McKinsey, and BCG we deliver our consultancy services at a professional level. One such training is a case training, where we present a typical consulting problem in a nutshell and introduce the frameworks used to tackle such questions in strategy consulting.

Toastmasters: Public Speaking - 16.00-18.00

As a student and for your future career, it is really important to know how to feel comfortable in front of groups with speaking

In the Public Speaking Workshop by Toastmasters. A conversation about public speaking, fear of the stage and how to approach them. Everybody is a public speaker in their own way and the goal is to discuss where everyone's strengths and weaknesses are. This workshop includes:

Fear of stage: how public speaking makes people uncomfortable
What type of speaker you are and what speaker you want to be
Interactive part: have the participants try out public speaking
Feedback on your public speaking skills

10th of March: EBF/FEB E-assessment Training - 9.00-13.00 or 13.30-17.30

Specialist in practice packages for assessments!

We offer practice packages that take you further in your career or personal development. Make sure you are well prepared for your assessment.

Many companies nowadays include an E-Assessment in their application procedures. An online assessment or e-assessment is sometimes used to take (parts of) an assessment. Questionnaires and online ability tests can be completed at home or in a controlled environment. Components that often are included in the E-assessment tests of Companies are:

When you become a student at the faculty of economics and business, you can count on a dedicated Career Services team. We offer you a wide range of online and offline activities that will help you enter the labour market! Such as: Job prospects, practical experience, workshops, internships and working in the Netherlands as an international student. FEB Career Services frequently facilitate workshops that will help you develop the employability and application skills you need. The goal of FEB CS is to assist students with the preparation of their future careers. Part of that involves helping students mastering the key skills to create the tools and techniques needed to succeed in the labour market.

YAG (Young Advisory Group)

YAG is a student consulting agency which in the last 10 years had over 300 company cases. YAG is a group of ambitious students and entrepreneurs from a diverse academic background. We conduct market research, work on strategy cases, result improvement and data research. In a 1.5 year time period, YAG helps you to become a consultant on a professional level.

Toastmasters

Our club offers you the opportunity to practice public speaking in a supportive, fun and encouraging environment. Through regular practice, you will not only learn to handle natural nervousness and fear, but you will also develop the presentation skills necessary to confidently communicate your message anywhere and everywhere. Your progress will be customized to your needs and comfort so you’re able to grow into a competent speaker and leader at your school, work, and every other important aspect of your life.

Toastmasters also offers the chance to take part in contests both locally and internationally, where you can reach the pinnacle of your efforts in public speaking.

Our club has a very international culture, following each meeting, we get together in a local bar to enjoy with our members and guests.
